Aaron Sleeper

I design and build software for health, government and nonprofit teams, from the first research conversation to production code. Eighteen years across product design and front-end engineering, much of it in regulated work: healthcare, clinical research, public health, state government and finance. For the past year I’ve also built with AI agents in daily production, along with the automated checks that review their output before anything ships. I want to bring that combination to a small team working to help people.

• Lead product and experience design for a care-coordination platform for nutrition care, across three surfaces (care-team app, patient app, internal tools) used by dietitians, behavioral-health clinicians, care coordinators and providers.
• Built the design system from tokens up, with automated checks that block any page using a color, size or component from outside the system.
• Extended the same system past the product: the app screens, slide decks, diagrams, posters, print pieces and Word documents all come from one shared source.
• Designed and run the agent-assisted delivery pipeline the team works in: agents do production work, automated checks gate every output, and every change is logged.
• Translate clinical workflows into interfaces for multi-role care teams; ground data-handling decisions in the HIPAA regulations.

Change Craft · User Experience Consultant

• Designed and built the website for California GO-Biz’s statewide brand campaign, Just Another Day in CA, on WordPress and the California Design System, to the contract’s WCAG 2.1 AA standard, inside a multi-agency team. Wrote the handover documentation for in-house staff.
• Designed and built a compliance microsite for Circular Action Alliance, the nonprofit that runs California’s SB 54 packaging-recycling program. Launched to production ahead of the law’s January 1, 2027 deadline, built from reusable page templates and matched to the client’s live design standard.

• Led UX for a clinical-trial design platform, shipping features that gave pharmaceutical teams real-time estimates of a study’s cost, patient burden and risk.
• Built Faro’s design system and brought AI tooling into the design and documentation workflow.

• Designed and delivered enterprise platforms for Fortune 500 clients across media, retail, HR, logistics and education, including virtual retail for Nordstrom and test-score reporting for California school districts.
• Replaced a 45-foot physical scheduling whiteboard at a logistics client with a digital coordination platform that scaled with the business.
• Built design systems integrated with engineering workflows; mentored three designers through the company program.
